TMGT 815: Computer Applications in Transportation

Hands-on introduction to the software and computational tools used in transportation engineering, from spreadsheets and R/Python for statistical and geospatial analysis to traffic simulation platforms like VISSIM, HCS, and SYNCHRO, with responsible use of AI tools woven throughout. Equal emphasis on technical proficiency and communicating results through written reports and presentations.

TMGT 850: Travel Demand Analysis

Theories and methods of travel demand modeling for transportation planning and policy analysis, from the classic four-step framework (trip generation, distribution, mode choice, and assignment) to activity-based models and tools like QRS II, EMME2, TransCAD, TRANSIMS, and Python/R frameworks such as Grid2Demand. Emphasis on model development, calibration, and communicating results through technical reports and presentations.
